A true story about Trixie Lee, a young prostitute living in Boulder, Colorado in the late 1800's who was shot down by a jealous wife (Maude Hawkes) in 1894. Mary Maude Hawkes was found innocent despite having shot Trixie Lee five times. The judge ruled her a god fearing woman who was blameless for her fury. The Rapid Girls was the name given to the prostitutes and Madame Marie ran a brothel on Water Street which is now Canyon Boulevard in Boulder, CO.

Where I first met Trixie Lee.
